Alexandria Michaelis

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

Majoring in Nursing

We are so excited to welcome Alexandria Michaelis to the PINC 3-week Summer Immersion Program! She is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee majoring in Nursing. We are so excited that Alexandria will be joining us this Summer especially being from Wisconsin she is a snow bunny and she will really enjoy the warm Madrid Summers. We compiled some facts about Alexandria for you to get to know her and see her kind personality.

What are you most excited about when you think of PINC?

I'm most excited about interning with other young women looking to get some experience for our future careers, improving my Spanish, traveling to new places, and of course all the authentic food!

  • Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

10 years from now, I see myself hopefully settled down into a career somewhere in the health care system. Helping people is what I am passionate about and love to do, so anything within that field would be most ideal for me. I also hope to have traveled to a few different countries by that time.

  • When are you the happiest?

I am the happiest when I am spending time with friends and family. When I'm not able to be surrounded by them, being curled up in a blanket with a good book and a cup of tea is a close runner-up to that.

  • What are looking forward to do most in Madrid?

I am looking forward to soaking up the beautiful weather. I am from Wisconsin and it has been too cold for far too long! I am also looking forward to immersing myself into the Madrid lifestyle even if it is only for 3-weeks.

  • What is one of your proudest accomplishments to date?

My proudest accomplishment to date is being the first in my family on both sides to go to college.

  • What characteristic do you most admire in others?

I most admire kindness in others. When I see a complete stranger do a random act of kindness, it brightens my day. Everyone is so busy with their careers, technology, and themselves that they forget that the littlest act can make a difference in someone's day including their own.

  • If you could sit and have coffee with one celebrity dead or alive who would it be?

I would sit and have coffee with Johnny Cash. I grew up listening to his music and it makes me nostalgic in a good way. So it is only right to want to meet the man that was always singing in the background of my family activities as a child.
