03 Nov Wanna Go Abroad? Ask Yourself These Questions!
What should I be considering when researching about going abroad?
Abroad programs are exciting and hands-down some of the best memories ever! Many student don't know where to begin when picking the right one for them. Picking a program depends on what you are looking for and what factors come into play for you:
When picking a program, it depends on what you are looking for and what factors are a priority for you:
Time of the Year
This mainly pertains to your availability, commitments, and responsibilities. Do you need to take summer classes? What season do you want to travel during? Spain experiences all four seasons. However, they have mild winters with barely any snow. Springtime is wet and rainy. Summers are hot, but not humid, and the sun sets at 10 PM, so days are long. True story. We go into more detail about this in tomorrow's email.
Are you excited to commit to living abroad for two months? Or, are you looking for a fun express-experience that highlights all the must-sees and must-dos? Are you the type of person that gets homesick? Or, are you the person that has FOMO and after two weeks won't want to leave? Can you financially plan for two weeks or eight weeks? Only you can answer these questions.
Are you looking to be immersed and build soft skills to bring back with you for future job/internship opportunities? Do you want to live like a local and build hard & soft skills? Do you need a change of pace? Are you looking to meet new people? Is it your first time traveling and you want support for your first time? Do you want to be part of a program that could care less about your GPA? I dunno. You tell me.
Money matters and there is a program out there that suits everyone’s wallet size. With that said, you should look at going abroad as an investment that constantly gives back to you. Funding your travels is easy for some and more strategic for others. Our programs range from $3299 to $7199. Please note, we do offer payment plans to those that apply, with ZERO% INTEREST.
Support comes in all forms. You want to join a program that responds quickly and in detail to your questions. From the questions or concerns that you have, they should be able to even anticipate your next question. Ask to chat, ask to speak to alumni, ask for testimonials or videos. You want to know you have support before, during and after your abroad experience.
Will I be in a country with another language? What level of the language is recommended? How much or little opportunity will I have to practice the language. PINC has had students with beginner to advanced level of Spanish and has been able to accommodate everyone. If full immersion is what you are looking for we can place you in an internship or day of shadowing that is completely in Spanish. Cultural activities are offered in both English and Spanish.
