When I think about PINC, I think about how beneficial this experience will be for my personal and professional growth. I am so fascinated by the Spanish culture, and I am excited to finally learn the language somewhere other than a classroom at my University. Learning about a different culture has been such a life changing experience for me so far. I am so excited to continue this cultural journey with PINC an d I can’t wait to explore the endless opportunities that Spain has to offer me.

Which groups/sorority/organization are you currently affiliated with?

I am an active member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. I am also a member of the Honors Student Association. Within HSA I am a part of the Aid to South Africa Committee. On top of these, I’m also super excited to be a part of PINC’s program!

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

In 10 years, I hope to be helping children and young women in some capacity that involves social justice. Eventually, I would love to reach out and help young women and children in other countries that are affected by poverty, corrupt government and education and social development issues.

What are some of your bucket list items/places?

Ever since my service trip in Peru, I have a whole new outlook on life. I love the idea of traveling and helping others, and eventually I would love to join the Peace Corps, or apply for a TEFL job. Also, I hope one day I can go back to Peru and finish where I left off. There are so many young boys, women, and children that are in serious need of help, and I would love to go back and serve them. It has also been a dream of mine to go to Thailand!

What is one of your proudest accomplishments to date?

My proudest accomplishment up to date would have to be my recent half service/ half immersion trip to Peru this past winter break with my University. The experience taught me so much about myself, and made me realize that I have such a strong passion to help others. It was a life changing experience that has helped me figure out what I want to do in life.

If you could sit and have coffee with one celebrity dead or alive who would it be?

If I could sit and have coffee with one celebrity it would be Beyoncé. I think she emulates confidence, courage, and strength to women in this society who constantly feel the need to fix or edit themselves. She helps women love themselves no matter what they look like. I also admire her for her push and drive to get to where she is today.
