Meet Caitlyn- Internship 2017

Caitlyn Opsal

Truman State University

International Business Major with a minor in Spanish for Business.

I love the fact that PINC focuses on the professional development and empowerment of women. I am so excited to be able to complete an internship in Spain and work on my Spanish speaking skills and professional development simultaneously! -Caitlyn

Which groups/sorority/organization are you currently affiliated with?

I am a Sigma Kappa at Truman State. Through Sigma Kappa, I was given the opportunity to hold the leadership role of Assistant to the Vice President of Membership. I also serve as the Treasurer and apparel chair of the Women's Club Volleyball team on campus!

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
I see myself in a position I love. Within the next ten years I will like to have completed an MBA or worked for a law degree. My hope is to not only have a job that I love going to every day, but I am also interested in owning a small business on the side.

What are some of your bucket list items/places?

One thing on my bucket list is to travel. There are so many places I want to see in the world. I would love to visit all of the famous national parks in the U.S. as well as travel through other countries. My dream vacation would be to see Norway!

What is one of your proudest accomplishments to date?

One of my proudest accomplishments to date is completing a semester abroad in Spain. I studied abroad hardly knowing anyone in my group. I was also very doubtful about my Spanish speaking skills. This was the first time away from my family for more than a few weeks. Before I left, I was unsure if I would be able to complete the study abroad because I was lacking confidence in my abilities. I learned so much about myself and other cultures abroad and was really able to succeed in my classes.

If you could sit and have coffee with one celebrity dead or alive who would it be?

Make it ice cream (because I LOVE ice cream) and I would choose Ellen Degeneres because there would never be a moment of boredom. I think she's a great role model and it's a bonus that she's so funny!
