"I am most excited about all of the opportunities that will be available to me. I cannot imagine a better internship experience where I am able to travel to European countries not only to see the sights, but to help people while I am there. I am joining a totally immersive experience with an internship as well. I will be able to further my career and my degree while also helping people. I will get a new depth in every aspect of my life." - Remi

Which organization are you currently affiliated with?
I am the president of Purple Pride, the Recruitment Director for Up ‘til Dawn, and members of both Alpha Gamma Delta and Best Buddies.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
In 10 years I hope to have a job where I am able to teach English to non-native speakers. I want the opportunity to help others change the world. Giving others a voice is what I am most passionate about.

What about Madrid seems the most exciting?
Not only am I working in Madrid, but I am able to explore one of the oldest and prettiest countries in the world. I am getting to expand my cultural knowledge and I am getting to meet and see so many new things that I wouldn’t otherwise get the opportunity to experience.

What is one of your proudest accomplishments to date?
My proudest accomplishment is that I was able to start a new event for my sorority. I was the philanthropy chair for my organization for the 2015 calendar year, and we decided that it would be a good idea to have an annual spring event to balance our big annual fall event. I decided that it would be fun to do a hair cutting event to support cancer research, since I am heavily involved with kids at St. Jude as well. Delta Phi Epsilon was a new sorority coming to campus, and getting them involved was an exciting opportunity to benefit us both. By adding them I was able to start a new, annual event that helped a new sorority get a philanthropy event started, create and foster relationships with our Panhellenic sisters, and I was able to get 28 sorority women across campus to cut their hair for Pantene Beautiful Lengths to benefit individuals needing wigs. It was a beautiful and satisfying experience as a whole.

If you could sit and have coffee with one celebrity dead or alive who would it be?
I would want to sit down and have coffee with Ronald Reagan. He is my favorite president and he did so much for this country as a whole. He is such an inspiration because not only did he have a huge impact, his wife did as well. As a unit, they are incredible and inspirational.
