27 Jan Annie Gearhart - PINC Academy Spring 2018 Intern
My name is Annie Gearhart. I am attending Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, pursuing degrees in both International Studies and Spanish with minors in Religious Studies and European Studies. I am excited to work with the amazing women involved in PINC as I continue to develop and enhance skills while copy editing PINC’s current content. I have not yet traveled with PINC to Spain, but I hope to participate in the 8-week internship during the summer of 2019.
I played club volleyball for SIUE during the fall semester. Currently I am not a member of any group on campus this semester. However, I recently attended an activities fair at SIUE and I am considering joining the Hispanic Student Union, Democrats of SIUE, and the Global Ambassador Program.
Ten years from now, I hope to have a job with the FBI or Department of State working with intelligence or a job I have yet to discover that allows my family and me to travel the world together while working. Maybe one day I will be a famous Instagrammer or travel blogger!
I recently used an Ancestry DNA kit to discover from where I descend. After learning I am 100% European, I aspire to travel to every country in Europe that is a part of my heritage. Other places on my bucket list include Singapore, Bora Bora, and Greece.
One of my proudest accomplishments to date is graduating valedictorian of my senior class while working at least two jobs throughout most of my high school career. This accomplishment allowed me to join the honors program at SIUE and receive a full tuition scholarship, as well.
I would have to pick Emma Watson with whom to have coffee. Not only am I obsessed with Harry Potter, I also adore Emma for her feminist efforts.
